Charles R. Vermilyea Jr. is a retired Hartford Courant news copy editor. B.A. English/history, University of Connecticut (1967). Army veteran (Korea, 1962/63). Son Jon, an artist; daughter Elizabeth, an actress. I have a house, three dogs and a 2007 Beetle. My “Boardwalk Empire” spec script (“The Rite of Spring”) was a 2013 New York Screenplay Contest finalist. I also have two short stories, a TV pilot and a Vietnam War movie script. A noted Iraq war veteran, and poet, has said I "have a strong sense of voice and that'll carry your stories a long way and catch (and keep) the reader's attention."
