About Nan

Hello! This is a brief background on my work as a composer. My website, has a complete bio, samples and updates. Beginnings
Music has had a presence throughout my life. I began studying piano at an early age and started composing in high school. My earliest compositions were in various styles and created as solo piano works. I continued my education in music and received a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree in Piano Performance from California Institute of the Arts. Later I studied film scoring at the Pacific Northwest Film Scoring Program under the direction of two-time Emmy winner, Hummie Mann.
Experience in Film Scoring
I have collaborated with directors from San Francisco, Portland, Seattle and New York and I have scored numerous short films, documentaries, and the award winning feature length sci-fi thriller Unremembered directed by Greg Kerr. My collaborative work with Virginia Bogert and Women in Film-Seattle on The Moyer Foundation's Camp Erin PSA has aired on Network and Cable TV. I have been honored in receiving both Silver and Gold Medals for Excellence in Music for several short films and a feature film from the Park City Film Music Festivals from 2009-2011.In August 2011 I joined a Game Developer Team from Atlanta, GA, Asgard Studios. We are currently working on a new launch of our game, Wizards Castle HD which will be out in early . I am also part of the production team of Full Brain Films with Greg Kerr in Portland Oregon:
I am married and my husband plays guitar and bagpipes and we have a couple of great pets, Ming ming and Grand Coulee Esplanade, we call him Coulee.
Affiliations and Publications
I contribute articles to an online film composer’s forum from Los Angeles, ScoreCast Online and No Strings Attached E-News an entertainment online magazine based in Chicago.
Affiliations: ASCAP, Women in Film -Seattle, New York Women in Film and Television, Film Independent Los Angeles, IFP Seattle. I am a member and have served on the board of the Seattle Composers Alliance.
