SYNOPSIS:

http://www.magicalrealism.us/2013/06/06/film-school-the-movie/ screenplay by Lee A. Miller Two Moscow filmmakers have four scripts, story boards, a shooting schedule and a budget but they (like nearly every one) they have no funding. They devise a scheme to launder money for a criminal group. $10 million dollar is to be invested but only $100,000 is to be spent per film. The filmmakers take the $100,000 and make good but not hugely profitable films. The filmmakers befriend a Moscow traffic policeman who has a boring life and wants to help make films. Each film they make is an improvement; they are slowly becoming more skilled with each effort. Everything is fine until their 4th effort is a surprise blockbuster hit. Realizing that the film is not a $100 million dollar international hit, the criminal group returns for what they call their profits. Much of the drama surrounds the question of can they escape the criminal mafia but also what will the traffic policeman do when he learns of their scheme. Will he turn them in to the Russian authorities and will he help them fight off the mafia.
