At the age of 15, while recording a radio commercial for one of his concerts, Bill realized an interest in broadcasting after a local radio station offered him a job as an announcer. From there he moved into management, marketing and sales at radio and television stations in New Mexico, North Dakota, Texas, Tennessee and Missouri. During his broadcasting career he also served as Chief News Anchor and investigative reporter for a CBS television affiliate in Chattanooga, Tennessee and was a Disc Jockey at the legendary KXOL Radio in Ft. Worth, Texas.
By the age of 16 Bill had also become interested in theatre. A sample of musical and theatrical productions in which he has played principle roles are Bye Bye Birdie, Annie Get Your Gun, Man of La Mancha, The Music Man, South Pacific and Fiddler on the Roof and the award winning musical The Promise.
Bill’s first love has always been performing with his brother Randy in the musical group known as The Brooks Brothers. For 9 years he was seen in The Promise as “Peter” and Narrator.” During a span of six consecutive years Bill was voted Entertainer of the Year in Texas by the Country Music Revue Association. It was there that Bill taught his signature arrangement of the gospel song, “I Know Who Holds Tomorrow” to 8 year old Leann Rimes, which she later recorded on her top selling inspirational CD. Her recording of this song was nominated for the Dove Award in 1998. It was on the Country Music Revue Stage where Rimes began performing along with The Brooks Brothers and honed her talents.
From 1990 through 1994, Bill was Director of Marketing for Kingdom Development Company where he was responsible for the development and implementation of all sales, marketing and box office activity for the start up of The Promise, a spectacular musical performed in the Texas Amphitheatre in Glen Rose, Texas.

In 1994 Bill was Master of Ceremonies during preliminary judging of the Miss Universe Pageant in Las Vegas where he also performed each night. He shared MC duties with Dick Clark during the worldwide telecast of the final judging of that event.
