With over twenty-five years of experience, Sherry Sims, CSA has established herself as an essential element in the entertainment industry. Known as the “Career Maker” she has helped to launch and sustain the careers of notable talent in front and behind the camera. After producing the award-winning documentary, SWAN in 2010 she formed The Sims Film Company.
Under her own shingle in Los Angeles and London, Sherry develops and produces cutting edge feature, television, and multi-media projects. She is a member of the Teamsters Local 399 Union, and has served on the International Board of Directors for the Casting Society of America since 2008. As a judge for the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences Emmys, she has been influential and has garnered due recognition for stellar talent since 2007.
Sherry’s film casting and production credits include studio features such as the Oscar-winning feature film, BORN ON THE FOURTH OF JULY, as well as Universal’s PROBLEM CHILD, Touchstone’s GOOD MORNING VIETNAM, and Imagine Entertainment’s THE LONG WALK HOME. She has also worked with Dreamworks, ABC, CBS, NBC, FOX, HBO, and Showtime. Under their banners, Sherry headed the development and production of several feature films and film shorts, including Emmy nominated THE BULKIN TRAIL, and one of the first reality series, MTVs REAL MODELS. She was recruited by Greenwich Films and Allied Cinema Corp to run their West Coast offices. Sherry’s recent casting credits include television series and pilots with Goldwasser/Meltzer Casting.
In 2007 and 2008 Sherry’s team was recognized with two CSA ARTIOS AWARDS for BEST CASTING for Disney Channel’s Emmy-nominated series, HANNAH MONTANA. She has since cast numerous projects including the Sci-Fi Channel’s ESTATE OF PANIC, Nickelodeon’s THE TROOP, The N’s reality series, QUEEN BEES, ABC’s EXTREME MAKEOVER: HOME EDITION, NBC’s DEAL OR NO DEAL, and Joel Surnow’s (FOX) THE ½ HOUR NEWS HOUR.
Currently, Sherry serves as the Artistic Director of The Lady Filmmakers Festival, a post she has proudly held since 2011. She is currently producing, CHILDREN OF THE NIGHT, a psychological thriller written by Sarah Brockhoff.
