About Julie

Hello! I'm Julie. I recently made the big move to Los Angeles! I have been a professional writer for 10 years. My articles on Art & Culture have been featured in Phoenix and Los Angeles magazines and newspapers. I've had articles, also, published on Korean entertainment and culture in The Korea Times US. As for screenwriting, I wrote my first script five years ago. Since then I've taken screenwriting classes and added more scripts to my aresenal. Not to ideas in the works. The genres I write are period dramas in the vein of 'Mad Men', 'Downton Abbey', 'Boardwalk Empire', 'Reign' and 'Masters of Sex'. I'm fan of these shows, including 'How to Get Away with Murder', 'Scandal', 'Once Upon A Time', 'The Blacklist', and others. Many of my scripts are "inspired" by true stories, people or events. They are geared toward adults and teens.

Some of the things I enjoy about writing are: researching, outlining, character development, and rewriting. My goal is to work on a writing team in television.

I'm a huge TV and pop culture buff. I watch televsion shows from all over the world -- the UK, Australia, France, Sweden, Denmark, Spain, Korea, Taiwan and Japan. I'm also learning Korean and Spanish through self-study. I also enjoy films from the Silents to today. And take pride in my knowledge of Hollywood history and of industry. Aside from screenwriting and journalism, I write fiction and plays.
