About Amy

Amy Wheeler started her design career in commercial architecture in the mid-nineties and transitioned that experience into the film and television business more than a decade ago. After getting her BFA in Film Production from the Academy of Art University in San Francisco she began working on projects such as The Heartbreak Kid, Sex and the City, The Office, Californication and the upcoming film The Three Stooges from 20th Century FOX. Amy has been Production Designer on six feature and short length films including David Stanley’s true story Protecting the King and the Ellie Kanner's first feature Crazy Love.
Her love for the production process as well as ethnic diversity also led her to become a segment producer for a home design show on TVOne called Living With Soul that broke the HGTV mold and brought viewers a look at afrocentric style in America. Amy has been a proud member of the Art Directors Guild within the IATSE union for seven years. She’s known amongst her peers for talents in various 3D and previs programs as well as a fine artist. Production designers have one of the key creative roles in the creation of motion pictures and television. They help select the settings and style to help visually tell the story, and for Amy Wheeler the most important aspect is always the story.
