About Rob

Rob Innes is a writer, producer and director with a focus on innovative storytelling in documentary and factual. He has previously been named as a “Ones to Watch” by the Screen Producers of Australia. Rob wrote, produced and directed the Australian Broadcasting Corporation (ABC) original documentary series Housemates (series 1 and 2), which led to a commission for an experimental short form documentary series What Could Go Wrong? for ABC digital and social media. Recently, he produced the experimental series Phenomena with ABC Science and directed by Josef Gatti, which won the Special Jury Prize at the Scinema Science Film Festival and screened as an immersive experience at Melbourne Museum. He has worked with director Charby Ibrahim producing his short documentary film Bright Lights which is now available on The Guardian Documentaries. He has also produced content such as documentary web series Busker Stories which has more than 1 million views on YouTube, and the documentary digital series and now film Youth On Strike! which was the first external commission for Australian youth publisher Junkee and won the Melbourne Documentary Film Festival ‘Best Documentary Webseries Award 2020’. Rob was fortunate enough to produce the behind-the-scenes stories for feature film Ride Like A Girl which was directed by Rachel Griffiths and starred Teresa Palmer and Sam Neil. Before working in documentary, Rob wrote and directed scripted short films as he developed his storytelling skills, and worked as a talent agent representing Margot Robbie, Brett Tucker, Adam Zwar and many others.

And no, Rob doesn't usually speak in the third person.
