About Michael

I'm in a middle of a mid-life career transition from a high-tech nerd to an aspiring writer/director/producer of feature films and TV series/MOW. I have a slate of commercial value original stories/scripts in various stages of development (who doesn't:). I've been slowly shooting my "calling card" feature film, out-of-pocket with close to zero budget. My other film projects can't be produced without a real budget and reasonably known stars.

I've started as an actor to learn the film business from the film set - the best film school money can't buy - especially the class of "What Not To Do On A Set". My acting career is a bit stymied by my slight Russian accent :)

I've experienced many of the key crew roles, including camera (non-film), lights, sound, grip, etc. As a producer it's good to know the operational details of the various key departments. As a director it helps to understand what your DP is doing.
