That is the predicament investigative journalist Paul Ellis Martin finds himself in when an earthquake dislodges the coffin of Lt. Edward Tremble; no body, just traces of raw opium. This creates a domino effect that plunges Paul into a gauntlet of danger after he’s invited to Honolulu by his best friend Brad Tremble, Ed’s son. Interwoven intrigue and twists build as Kristman’s recruits narrowly escape death in the midst of upheaval within Moonkite over a power struggle between the Chairman Gus Francerelli and Marvin Blix in D.C., pro football owner Duncan McAllister on a good will tour with Hollywood producer Philippe de Monte, and Moonkite's Eastern power brokers Dr. Zanieb Haldia, Nam Singh,and his wife Loi - the mysterious Blue Lotus. These events force a show down both in Thailand by Lun Tha’s strategic reconnaissance, and by a strange tip to the White House. In an attempt to steal Moonkite's billions, Marvin Blix - the Chairman’s own financial chief - exposes who Gus really is: Kristman’s own grandfather. Yet, because Francerelli had been an advisor and confidant to Presidents dating back to Truman, he had flown under the radar. Now Peter has no choice but to have Gus arrested.
