CRE Outreach

CRE Theatre was established in 2003 to provide theatre programs and performances to Los Angeles community centers and schools. In 2007, the organization was incorporated as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit under the new name of CRE Outreach with a mission to utilize theatre as a means to enhance self-esteem, encourage self-expression, and empower individuals to overcome the challenges in their lives. Through the creation of original theatrical works, CRE Outreach is “Transforming Lives, One Show at a Time.” CRE Outreach serves the community through theatre-based arts programs to schools, service agencies and the public at large.

By working in our community, on stage and in schools, using the medium of theatre, CRE Outreach confronts many challenges that at-risk youth and visually impaired individuals face. Our work seeks to break down the barriers that contribute to the isolation and cultural divide felt by many in these communities while our productions seek to awaken an appreciation for their artistic contributions.

Current program offerings:

Changing Perceptions, a performing arts programs for visually impaired youth, teens and adults.

Theatre By The Blind, our adult theatre troupe creates and produces original theatrical works for productions in Los Angeles.

Creative Youth Theatre, a theatre program for schools and districts that are under-funded to provide performing arts programs.
