About Darren

Darren Cole Butcher was born and raised in Wyoming. From as early as he can remember, he always had a tape recorder or camera in his hand. At the age of 23 he attended a small, two-year Bible college in Kansas. Upon completion he spent time ministering to the homeless, while being directed to reach more people in a mass media effort. He moved to Arkansas and began his four year military career in the Army Reserve. In the military he worked on audio/video production and received numerous medals for his work in Afghanistan having written, produced and directed a national commercial while there. He has worked for three years in radio as a DJ, editor, MC and produced his own one hour pilot radio show (PotLuck Radio). He also worked for three years at a TV station as a prime-time board operator, editor, and did camera work for sporting events and locally produced shows. During this time he was introduced to the music industry and met the band CO3; he became their spiritual adviser, driver, sound mixer and security.
In 2007 Darren moved to Florida and married singer/song writer Stepheny Butcher. While there he began to write film scripts. He has completed four full length feature scripts to date. One of his films (The Dancer) was a best script finalist in the Phoenix International Christian Film Festival. He has written, produced and directed two short films (Judas Kiss and Jesus 82). For the past five years he and his wife have been traveling full time in America and abroad (Mexico, Haiti, and the Dominican Republic), ministering wherever and however the Lord leads.
Darren has plans to continue film writing and production, as well as ministry and mission work. He hopes to one day start a school that would specialize in film, TV, music, and radio production.
