SYNOPSIS:

MYA MITCHELL is an African-American woman who has lived her entire life trying to please the men in her life. From her boyfriends to her overly protective father, Mya has done what’s expected of her… until now. ROBERT LOPEZ, her new boyfriend, has obtained a job in Los Angeles and is relocating from their small southern town to follow his dream of being a sports anchor. Mya takes this opportunity to follow her own dream of becoming a screenwriter. Her family and friends try to persuade her to stay, but for the first time in her life, Mya wants to call her own shots. All is great until she discovers that the man of her dreams is a complete fraud. He is on the down low and is basically using their relationship to portray a wholesome image to his new colleagues. On top of that, she discovers that one of Robert’s “new special friends” is EVAN YOUNG, her high school boyfriend, who is now openly gay, living in Los Angeles, and trying to rekindle their friendship.
