A born and bread New Yorker Robert Mercado learned at a young age the power of the creative mind and was drawn into the world of Entertainment. As a teen in High School, Mercado contributed to creating plays thay he would act in and develop."I was blessed to go to a High School that allowed me to flex my creative muscle and create works that had positive messages from under age sex to nutritional health". His passions lead him to acting in several school productions and Mercado became determined to break into the world of film and theater. After Graduating High School Robert began taking on extra roles that had him on the set of "Ugly Betty" , Sex And The City 2" , and "Yelling To the Sky". After a season with The Actor's project NYC, and acting in the SXSW Film Festival films "Upstate" and "Unlimited" , Robert began to write his own independent film"God, I Miss You".
Mercado wrote, acted in and Co-Directed the film and says "this film is my message of resistance to the world against tyranny. I'm proud that this film through all its hot topics that include; rape, drug abuse,sexual identity, terrorism, STD's and more that this is ultimately a film about the power of love. And how Love for one's self , friends, family and country can be a catalyst to a great many thing. After Four years of script development and two years worth of filming Robert Mercado wrapped shooting On "God, I Miss You" in the spring of 2014 and says "Now the real fun begins right? I get to really embrace the film festival circuit process and give light to this project that I was so blessed to have many talented artist be a part of"!
