John David Schrader

John is a multi instrumentalist who holds degrees in Music (Performance/Education) and Film/Audio/Video (Production/Post-Production). He owns his own Production Company (Bugbird Productions) and recording studio (JLS Sound) in Kingston, NY. This is where he composes, performs, records and engineers his works. John also owns his own publishing company, Mahmnic Music Publishing (ASCAP)

John is an active member of ASCAP and Sound Exchange. John has won 6 awards from ASCAP for his songwriting and composition. He cites as influences in musical score, such composers as Alan Silvestri, James Horner, John Williams, Bill Conti, Hans Zimmer, Bernard Herrmann, Michael Kamen, Nino Rota and many others.

He composes music for all forms of broadcast media and and currently has his compositions featured on program content from clients such as:

20th Century Fox, Black Entertainment Television, Buena Vista Films, Byron Allen Productions, Caravan Pictures, CBS Television, Columbia Pictures, Darcy Advertising,

John has won a "Communicator Award" and a "Videographer Award" for his production work on Film/Video projects.

Along side of his musical works, John has also been involved in many production aspects of Film/Video. He has worked his way up from PA work to include work as a Director, AD, LD, Screenwriting and Production Design. He has worked in post-production capacities for commercials and indie film projects as a visual editor as well.

John owns his own recording studio in Kingston, NY (JLS Sound) where he records, engineers, composes and mixes original works. He owns his own publishing company, Mahmnic Music Publishing (ASCAP) and his own production company = Bugbird Productions.

John has been making his mark in clubs from Woodstock, NY to NYC, New Jersey and Connecticut and Boston. He has kept great musical company lately…playing with members of Bob Dylan, Bruce Springsteen, Jackson Browne, Johnny Winter, Peter Gabriel, Rod Stewart, Sting, The David Letterman Band, Billy Joel, Shania Twain, Matchbox 20, Indigo Girls, Bryan Adams, The Cult, Macio Parker, Al Green, Southside Johnny and Leslie West, Van Morrison's Band, Muddy Waters Band, Bo Diddley, Blood Sweat and Tears, Rare Earth, Little Sammy Davis (Imus in the Morning), and Miles Evans (Son of Gil Evans) to name a few.
