Steve Brown

I produce and distribute innovative and impactful documentaries. My independent studio has released films in leading theaters including Regal, AMC and ArcLight, and digitally through leading networks including Netflix, Showtime, ABC Family, Apple, VUDU, Google and Amazon. Most recently, I directed and produced CHASING EINSTEIN, which premiered at the prestigious CPH:DOX festival in March 2019. Earlier, I was a producer of the award-winning films POACHED and TWINSTERS, both of which premiered at SXSW 2015, and OCCUPY THE FARM which toured theaters in 2014. My theatrical debut was SPARK: A BURNING MAN STORY, a feature-length documentary revealing the sweeping history and inside story of the world's largest participatory art festival. As a first-time director, I built a team of world-class filmmakers and mentors and gained unique access to the remarkable story of the people who grew a San Francisco experiment into a cultural phenomenon. SPARK premiered at SXSW and theaters in 2013 and has been widely viewed on Showtime, Netflix and VOD.
