SYNOPSIS:

SHOW SYNOPSIS: Every roadside marker that we pass on the road has a unique story behind it. These are the stories about the people whose lives ended at those unfortunate stretches of road, where only markers are left behind as grim reminders that one careless instant can impact the lives of so many innocent people. Each week a new marker is shown to begin an episode of character driven stories that tell the story behind the markers. Each story unfolds in a surreal manner and ends with unexpected, supernatural plot twists that illustrate the fact that no one can escape from fate. Ghosts are spirits who are unable to leave the earth and move on to what lies beyond. What people do not realize is that forces, (both evil and good) beyond their control, have significant impacts on the lives led by people on earth. These forces can, and often do, dictate whether the soul of a person remains earthbound or not. Some spirits, whose lives were so impacted by these forces, are given the opportunity to enter the lives of the living and help them move on to what lies after life. Gabriel gave Janet Blaze, a 1970’s hooker, and Anthony Locerna, a 1920’s hitman. Gabriel is an old man whose job it was to lead the forces of good and help those, about to die, to leave earth and move on even though other forces were at work to prevent this from happening. Gabriel, a god-like figure, is not God. He is a man who lived a life in ancient Greece when his own life was destroyed by the same evil forces that he now fights against. Janet and Anthony do not know how they died. However, they do know that their lives were surrounded by evil and they did evil things as a result of these influences. Gabriel tells them that they have a choice: to join the forces of good and help others who are unknowingly about to die not suffer their fate or remain earth bound as tormented spirits for eternity. They choose to join Gabriel, even though they view themselves more like fall angels. Every episode has Janet and Anthony enter the lives of people who are about to die in roadside accidents. Their job is to alter events for these people, so that they do not end up the way they did, as ghosts searching for something that can never be found. Every episode also tells us a little more about Janet and Anthony’s lives through flashbacks.
