SYNOPSIS:

"(Nec) Romance" By Gregory Bryant, Jr. Logline: A guy's normal life is turned upside down when he accidentally resurrects a zombie intent on loving him. Sean is an average guy. Everything about his life is average except for his super hot girlfriend, Gabby. Russell is Sean's closest friend. His universal fix for things is to party and socialize. Whenever Sean is down Russell advice is always to get out of the house and mingle. Maggie is a girl who went to school with all of the main characters, but died in college. Neither Sean or Russell remember her because she was unpopular in school, but Gabby use to bully her. Kent is a former soldier in the military. After coming back from the war he helps his father run a bookstore but secretly prepares for a zombie apocalypse that he believes the government will start. Kent and Maggie dated until after graduation. All of the characters reside in the same contemporary American suburban setting. The story begins with Sean having a flashback about how he got into his current situation: He and two other zombies debating on how they are going to find their next meal. Gabby, his smoking hot ex-girlfriend recently dumped him in public for a guy with a sports car. Sean attempts to get his mind off of the breakup by occupying his time, but everything keeps reminding him that he is now single. In an attempt to find advice on how to get his girlfriend back, Sean ends up in a strange bookshop looking for a self-help book. There he meets Kent, a shellshocked vet who believes the government will be the catalyst for a zombie apocalypse. He hands Sean his card in case he witnesses anything suspicious. Unfortunately, a spell book catches his eye, and after reciting a spell from the book he accidentally resurrects Maggie, a young woman who has been dead for some time. After leaving the bookstore Sean loses the card on the street. Disoriented and hungry, Maggie digs herself out of her grave and goes on a feeding rampage that includes her own parents. Eventually she finds Sean and convinces him that he is the one who summoned her and to keep her around. Sean leaves Maggie alone in his house to buy her new clothes and makeup to mask her undead nature. While away, Sean's best friend, Russell comes to visit and is attacked by Maggie. Sean returns to find his new zombie pet chowing down on his best friend. During a heated argument Sean attempts to kill Maggie but ends up being bitten when Maggie defends herself. He awakens to find himself zombified and starving. Sean reluctantly accompanies Maggie to go eat his next door neighbors and is surprised to find that he likes being a zombie. Meanwhile, Russell wakes up to an empty house and plots to kill Maggie before she gets to Sean. When Maggie and Sean return they find Russell "alive and well." After convincing him to forgive Maggie for attacking him, the three scheme to order a pizza in hopes of feeding the pizza delivery person to Russell as his first kill. After devouring the pizza delivery girl, a distraught Russell decides to go to a party to lift his spirits. Meanwhile, Sean and Maggie pay Gabby a visit to get revenge. While at the party Russell and a newly created zombie go into a feeding frenzy causing everyone who hasn't been turned to flee in panic. This gets the attention of a neighbor who happened to pick up Kent's lost business card. He calls Kent and tells him that there are people being eaten just outside his house. Kent arrives at the crashed party armed to the teeth and begins killing everybody. Russell ends up getting killed while on the phone with Sean. Sean vows to avenge his friend's death. He and Maggie summon all of their now undead victims to help them defeat Kent and devour him until there's nothing left to come back. Months pass. The death of Russell is still fresh in Sean's mind, but everything has settled down. The town's population now soley consists of zombies. Maggie has surprisingly been impregnated by Sean, and Sean plans on possessing the baby with the spirit of Russell using the Necronomicon.
