The show brings to life actual cases of sociopaths — 3 to 12 million of them live in the United States — and how they manipulate and traumatize their victims. The shows are psychological thrillers, telling tales of deceit on a scale most of us cannot imagine. There is theft, fraud, physical assault, child abuse, drug abuse, bankruptcy, homelessness, rape and murder — all committed by a trusted lover, spouse or friend. All the stories are true. They are submitted by actual victims to Lovefraud.com, a website that teaches people how to recognize and avoid sociopaths, also called psychopaths. The true stories are presented as scripted television drama, faithful to the actual events that transpired, with actors playing the parts of the sociopaths and the victims. Each episode is independent — a new story and a new tale of destruction, perpetrated by someone who could be living next door.
