Andrew T. Mackay

Andrew is an award-winning composer & producer living and working between London and Mumbai.

He is also the co-founder of the Bombay Dub Orchestra whose last album was recorded in Istanbul, Mumbai, Delhi, Kingston Jamaica, London, LA and NY. His most recent film score was for the feature doc ‘Monsoon’ which premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival 2014.

His work in Bollywood includes orchestrations and orchestral recording for AR Rahman's films Ling and I. Also for the Yash Raj Film Dhoom 3. He has also worked on films such as Tashan and Wake Up Sid.

His company Bohemia Junction Ltd. is a meeting place for creatives between UK & India. The company represents Abbey Road Studios for India in particular the online Mastering services and have mastered a host of projects from India including songs from films such as the Yash Raj Films‘ Dhoom 3, Gunday and director Vishal Bhardwaj’s award winning film Haider as well as the latest
album from Indian Ocean which was also mastered direct to Vinyl. Bohemia also represents Macedonia’s FAMES Project, which is the new ‘go to’ home for orchestral film recording for Hollywood, Europe and Bollywood. Both Dhoom 3 and Gunday were recorded there as well as a recent album project for AR Rahman and Ranjit Barot. LIngaa and I were also recorded there in November 2014.

He is the Director of the Mumbai Composers Lab - India’s first ever composer’s lab which started in 2013 and runs during the annual Mumbai Film Festival in association with Abbey Road, PRS for Music and supported by BMI. He also co-curates the annual Mumbai Song Hubs which is an APRA/AMCOS initiative featuring a host of Australian and Indian songwriters and composers.
