Growing up at the New Jersey Shore and Cape Cod I have been fortunate to develop
and cultivate a strong passion for the marine environment and its inhabitants. Although
I acquired a degree in business administration I ended up working for many years as a
dive instructor and dive shop manager on the East Coast, spending countless hours
underwater around the wrecks off the coast of New York and New Jersey, the cave
systems of Florida, and in exotic locations around the world.
I eventually transitioned into underwater cinematography and photography because I
wanted to tell the story of the ocean to those who can’t visit this extraordinary place.
Based in Los Angeles for the past 18 years I have been capturing wildlife on film for
documentaries and nature shows while also working on feature films, commercials, and
music videos to support myself.
Over the years, ocean conservation has become my passion and I am currently
providing underwater photography support to several local nonprofit environmental
organizations. Living at the heavily populated Southern California Coast has introduced
me to the many challenges the marine environment is facing from the pressure of
human existence. It has also taught me that our future is dependent on a healthy
ocean. It is my goal; through my images; to not only show the beauty of this ecosystem
but also to convey its fragility and the importance and urgency of protecting it.
