I have studied media, broadcast, film and TV since the age of 14 (I actually thought being a radio presenter would be my dream job at that age). I wrote my first complete short story at age 12. After my mum read it, she looked at me with furrowed brows and asked gently "Alana is everything ok?". I grinned knowing that I achieved my purpose of writing in a way that people are intrigued by my mental state after reading my work and I guess I've been aiming to do that ever since.
Unique traits: I am a born and partly bred African and most of my inspiration comes from my background and my roots however I never grew up with traditional African customs (I actually wish I did). I love imagining these customs and writing traditional African stories and I think that's a bit unique.
