About Matthew

Matthew Smaglik, is an independent producer based in New York City. Most recently he co-produced Nathan Silver's Thirst Street featuring the voice talents of Academy Award winner Anjelica Huston. The film premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival and has been acquired by Samuel Goldwyn Films. Previously, Matthew served as the creative director and producer for Dogfish Pictures a company known for (LIKE CRAZY, COMPLIANCE AND PRINCE AVALANCHE). With Dogfish, Matthew co-produced the sci-fi feature Diverge, which won the U.S In Progress top prize and was selected for the Frontières Work In Progress in 2015. Matthew went on to produce Florence, Yesterday starring Daisy Bevan in Italy and David Bly’s Sweet Parents which is premiering at the Brooklyn Film Festival in 2017.

Matthew’s experience ranges from producing feature films to commercials for companies like BBDO, AMC, and VOX along with a new media collaboration with Massachusetts General Hospital last year. With a focus on international co-production, Matthew has participated in several prestigious programs including IFP Film Week in 2015, the Trans Atlantic Partners program this past year, the Frontières Film Financing Forum in Amsterdam and presented at the Frontières Platform at the Marche Du Film in Cannes in 2017. Matthew is focused on emerging talents, taking advantage of the changing media landscape, and building partnerships.
