My name is Stefanie Jade Isabeau Rossi and I am 27 years old.
I was born and raised in Adelaide, where I am currently pursuing my performing career. I studied drama in Year 11 and 12 at High School and undertook a three year acting course at SA Casting in Adelaide from 2001 - 2004. I have also studied singing since I was about 12 years old, play the piano and studied dance from the age of 4 to 21. On top of normal dancing I did competitive cheerleading and was a cheerleader for the Crows. When I was 21 I moved to Melbourne after being accepted into the Victorian College of the Arts Music Theatre course. Unfortunately the course fell through during the events involving the VCA which occurred a few years ago and I wasn’t able to complete the course. I studied to be a personal trainer and then worked in Melbourne for a few years as a fitness instructor (in yoga and aerobics) and personal trainer for both gyms and studios. Whilst in Melbourne, I was presented with the opportunity to audition for the Adelaide College of the Arts and was subsequently accepted, which is when I moved back to Adelaide to commence the course at AC Arts. I graduated from the Adelaide College of the Arts with an Advanced Diploma of Arts in Acting as a part of the class of 2012.
I have always loved performing and have pursued it ever since I left high school. I am a singer / dancer / actor and since graduating from the Adelaide College of the Art I have performed in the 2013 production of Patch Theatre’s Mr McGee and the Biting Flea (March - April 2013) which is one of their repertoire pieces as well as Splash Theatre’s Book Show Tour for 2013, Read Across the Universe (June – September 2013) which was a devised piece. From December 2013 – January 2014 I was involved in the development and then staging of a very unconventional version of Macbeth which was produced by emerging Adelaide theatre company Foul Play. This year during May – July I toured with Patch Theatre Company as a part of the national tour of Mr McGee and the Biting Flea and also worked with Perform! Educational Musicals for the month of August on their touring Book Week Show, World’s Apart. I also have a passion for music theatre and film and will be looking to pursue these acting mediums as well as stage work. I find devising work to be highly rewarding and exciting and have a few music theatre type projects in the pipe lines at the moment that will be devised pieces! I love acting and want to pursue it for many reasons; the opportunity it gives one to speak to a number of people simultaneously and either touch them, inspire them, educate them or simply share a point of view with them, the way in which you can transcend this world and become someone else entirely from a different time and place, the way in which you can transport an entire audience to a different time and place as well as the amount that you learn from being an actor! Above all though I am pursuing acting as it is where I feel most at home and what I feel I am ‘meant’ to be doing. I feel alive when I’m on stage in a way I’ve never known...it’s such a wonderful thing to be able to do and be a part of.
