When he's not busy obsessing over the Detroit Tigers bullpen (it stinks this year) to an extremely unhealthy degree, Mike Kammer provides the 'M' in Runn AMC Productions, an independent filmmaking production group based in Michigan.
A graduate of the Motion Picture Institute of Michigan (class of '05), Mike specializes in screenwriting (at which he's way too slow), specious directing (at which he's really a glorified dabbler) and questionable acting (his talent for which is, well... questionable).
In December of 2006, Mike's spec teleplay pilot, "Wake the Devil," placed in the Top 20 (out of more than 600 entries) of that year's national Slamdance Teleplay Competition and eventually led to a brief meeting with several FOX 2000 executives at a Slamdance event who were very gracious about how unimpressed they were with the fact that while Mike somehow managed to beat out the first 580-odd contestants his script faced, he had apparently failed miserably when his work was compared to the last 19 writers left standing.
One of the first short screenplays he wrote, "Suburban Heroes," became Runn AMC's first production in 2008 and eventually spawned two seasons on the internet, the first of which is available on DVD at certain local video stores (hint: Also, here: http://www.runnamc.com/merchandise), and the second of which is expected to be completed in the Fall of 2011. The Pilot episode has had the good fortune to appear in far too many film festivals to list in this space.
In addition to writing all but one of the 14 episodes filmed so far, Mike also plays lead character Captain Pain (who appears in--you guessed it--13 of the 14 episodes filmed so far) and--on rare occasions when all other suitable candidates are drunk--directs.
Some of Mike's other acting credits include Andy Yeomans's short film "The Internet Style Guide for Blogs" (see it here!: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1816676) and Ryan Meade's upcoming "Cosmos Locos."
Mike lives alone and in a cave. He has no kids and one heir, though he has been diligent about spending all his money and then some, so his heir will have no motive for ever murdering him. He has long contemplated acquiring a dog.
He is currently petless.
