About Tim

Prior to going pro, Tim Valentino has more than 25 years as an avid hobbyist shooting everything from flowers and wildlife, to drag racing, extreme sports and live music, still lifes, portraits, weddings and newsworthy items.

Starting as a full-time professional freelance photographer in July of 2007, Tim is most well-known for having put in 2-1/2 years behind the lens as The Voice-Tribune's lead society photographer and was the primary photographer helping to launch NFocus Magazine Louisville from it's inception in April 2010 until October 2011. After a seven month hiatus from media work, Tim began shooting freelance again for the Voice-Tribune in May of 2012 and continues to this day. In this time, Tim has had the good fortune to cover such amazing happenings as The Kentucky Derby and Kentucky Oaks, The Bluegrass Ball, which was the kickoff to the President Obama Inaugural Ball series in Washington DC and also included Mohammed Ali's 67th birthday celebration, the Ford IronMan Triathalon, WorldFest, ForeCastle Festival, Birmingham Alabama's BAM Music Festival, Secretary of State Colin Powell's reception at the KY International Convention Center, The Special Olympics' Polar Bear Plunge, The Lexington Hearing & Speech Center's 50th Anniversary Celebration featuring former President Bill Clinton, and a myriad of other local community, charitable events, balls, galas, and festivals, sporting events, political happenings, art, music and television premieres as well as capture images of some of the most prominent members of our community in all different areas.

Tim has worked with and photographed some of the region's top culinary experts as well as their completed dishes. While each photographer has their own style, Tim only utilizes the actual dishes as designed by the chefs, since his belief is that each chef is an artist and each dish prepared by that chef is a work of art. So the only things truly altered may be lighting, angle focal plane and table design.

We have captured all kinds of architectural images over the years from public indoor and outdoor spaces to private residences of all sizes, inside and out. We have done large scale images of these structures as well as highlighted minute details. Tim also does property imaging for the area's real estate industry.
