About Ahmed

Ahmed El-Alfy is a Theatre/Film Director based in London.

Albeit being slave to the modern corporate world in various locations including Cairo, Dubai, and Hong Kong, he has always found ways to creatively and illogically make/bend time to involve/impose himself in the local community theatre scene. El-Alfy quit his day job and has done his MA in Theatre Directing at Mountview Academy of Theatre Arts.

He wants to create a world on stage that could also exist in the imaginations of the audience and is very interested in identity, where he thinks about a performance as a way of measuring ourselves against other possibilities of ourselves.

Theatre includes: Orphans by Dennis Kelly (McAulay Studio - Hong Kong Arts Center), Six Characters in search of an author by Luigi Pirandello - Adapted by Rupert Goold and Ben Power (McAulay Studio - Hong Kong Arts Center), Unbroken by Alexandra Wood (The Karamel Club - London), The Dumb Waiter by Harold Pinter (Hong Kong Fringe Club), Gotcha by Barrie Keeffe (The Karamel Club - London), In the Next room or the Vibrator Play by Sarah Ruhl (McAulay Studio – Hong Kong Arts Center), In a Forest Dark and Deep by Neil Labute (Mountview - London), Third Floor by Jason Hall (The Cockpit Theatre – London), The Comedy of Oedipus by Ali Salem (The Lion and Unicorn - London)
