Anita Hei-Man Yu

My name is Hei-Man (Anita) Yu and I studied film in Brooklyn College. I have been working for the last five years as an editor, mainly focusing on product / client-based customer stories and corporate case studies. I have had the honor of being able to work with major clients such as: Adobe Systems, Microsoft Corp., Google, and many more. I am grateful for my previous experience. My goal is to work on scripted narrative for film or television, but I will take any editing opportunity to sharpen my skills.

I believe great storytelling is crucial in order to bring entertainment and messages out to the audience. This is a collaborative team effort from pre-production to production and then to post-production. However, I believe that all the magic happens in post-production. Essentially, this is where the editor comes in to remove unnecessary parts, put pieces together and be able to problem-solve in order to bring the director's vision to life visually on the big screen. My desire and goal is to reach this level of editing through gaining valuable experience with this position. I believe it's not too important where you start, but how you take opportunity to propel yourself to where you want to be.
