John Balazs is Melbourne based filmmaker who has worked within the Film and Television industrie for over a decade
John graduated from JMC academy in 2004 where he recieved the best short film award for his debut short "Fallen". Shortly after graduating, he went onto produce a variety of commercials and music videos for various production companies in Melbourne. In 2007, he entered network television as a production assistant on various gameshows and by 2010 he was a producer, writer and editor of Kids WB, producing over 20 hours of television per week. During this time he was also a casual News exchange operator for Nine News. 2009 saw John direct and edit two short films - "The Ice Cream Man" and "Short Black". Both films were well recieved in the local film festival market.
John also went onto edit two more short action films in 2011 and 2012. Both these shorts would serve as a prequal for his feature film debut in 2013.
In 2012 he went onto become the senior online editor for a global network for educational and documentry videos within the Australasian region.
2013 saw John take on the roles of Director, Associate Producer and Editor on the highly anticipated feature film The Ninja Immovable Heart, starring Danny Glover. Shot in Geelong, Australia over the course of 7 weeks, the film has been sucsessfully distributed in the United States.
Throughout these various projects John has also written and developed a project he is most passionate about - Alpha Dogs. 2014 saw John complete the script for Alpha Dogs which is currently in development for production in in Melbourne, Australia in 2015.
