About Robbi

D’Allessandro received her MFA from Lesley University in Writing for Stage and Screen, a Graduate Certificate in Screenwriting from Emerson University in 2007, and her Masters of Science in Personality and Social Psychology from Northeastern University in 2002. D’Allessandro was honored in winning the 2011 Kennedy Center Paula Vogel National Playwrights Award for her full-length play Po Sui Mu Lam (Broken Prayer), and was nominated for the Abingdon Theatre’s Christopher Brian Wolk Excellence in Playwriting Award for the same work. D’Allessandro’s sitcom Outliers received the Best Original Sitcom Award from the 2014 New York Screenplay Contest. She is currently contracted for the adaptation of Ron Drez’ Twenty-Five Yards of War: The Extraordinary Courage of Ordinary Men for television, and was represented by Gersh for the adaptation of Dean Morrissey’s Ship of Dreams, The Monster Trap, and The Great Kettles for screen. D’Allessandro’s screenplay The Battle of Tarawa Atoll was a second round selection in the 2014 Austin Film Festival. Her short film script Buried, and short film Last Call received national attention as a 2014 Beverly Hill Film Festival Best Short Film nominee, an Official Finalist in the 2012 Hollywood Screenplay Competition, and a finalist in the 2010 Asheville International Film Festival, respectively. Her screenplay Vieled, a feature Drama/Thriller (aka, Embracing the Fall), received a 2011 California Film Gold Award Winner, a 2012 Los Angeles Movie Award Honorable Mention, was a finalist in the Atlanta International Film Festival, and a quarter finalist in Francis Ford Coppola’s Zoetrope.
Upcoming: The world premiere of D’Allessandro’s Crux, will run in Boston May 2015. D’Allessandro’s short plays have been produced nationally.
