Six years after a cataclysmic event causes the world's continents to combine into a single land mass, a father and his daughter set out to find her geologist mother who disappeared just before everything changed.

SYNOPSIS:

Jade Bradley and her father Clay were on a flight headed to France to meet up with her brilliant but ostracized geologist mother, Amey, when a mysterious cataclysmic event crash-landed them in the jungles of Guyana. Six years later, they live in a makeshift village where they work together with the other survivors in a walled compound, abiding by strict rules of survival. Compelled by the dreams of her mother, Jade sneaks out of the village to the plane wreckage and finds a soapstone given to her by her mother. When she touches it, she has a vision of her mother - alive - and beckoning her to come find her. But when Jade is caught by one of the village's sentries, the Council decides to hold a vote on whether to exile her and her father. The urgency of this vision is heightened with the arrival of the Courier, a vagrant messenger who brings the village the clear evidence that "the Event" resulted in all of the continents coming back together into a single land mass, a geological event Amey had predicted. On the heels of an attack by a wandering gang of Rovers, Jade and Clay are divided about whether her visions are real. But when the Council votes to exile them and Clay has a vision of his own, they embark on a dangerous journey across an inhospitable and bizarre landscape to find Amey and reunite their family.
