Alessandro Trapani

Alessandro Trapani was born in Rome. He’s a filmmaker involved in producing music videos, short movies, art videos and short documentaries.
After attending a filmmaking course at the New York University, he graduated in History and Critique of Film at the University of Rome, with an essay on dream in Luis Buñuel’s cinema.
He has worked extensively in actor direction for film and commercial casting calls, developing his acting direction skills. He’s one of the founding associates of Studio T Casting and Video Services.
For twenty years he’s also been actively working as a first assistant director on film, TV and commercial productions, thus gaining a deep knowledge of the complex mechanisms of the set.
He worked on feature films such as Bright Star by Jane Campion, Silk by François Girard, The Talented Mr. Ripley by Anthony Minghella. In his career he’s had the chance to work with directors like Ridley Scott, David Lynch, Martyn Burke and with stars like Sharon Stone, Keira Knightley, Sylvester Stallone, Richard Gere and Kate Moss.

He’s always had a passion for photography and image writing.
As a filmmaker he’s directed, written and edited music videos, short movies, video art.
In 2008 he realized Lin Fei, a short movie set in Rome with a Chinese Taiji master as its main character. The movie was selected in the competition section of several film festivals and received the patronage of the Internal Affairs Department.
