Karl Richter

Karl Richter is an award-winning German-born Canadian fashion photographer/writer, based in Toronto, who has also worked in Milan, Paris, Hamburg, Munich and South Beach.

His photographic work has appeared in most Canadian magazines, as well as German Vogue, U.S. Vogue, Harper’s Bazaar, Architectural Digest, Travel & Leisure, Vanity Fair, Amica (Milan) and Donna (Milan). His portfolio is available at
He has directed commercials for Aerolineas Argentinas, written, directed and produced fashion videos for Pain Clothing and corporate videos for Ontario Power Generation.

His first feature film screenplay, PROPAGANDA, was optioned by TED KOTCHEFF, filmmaker and Executive Producer, Law & Order, S.V.U.
Ted commissioned Karl to write BUM$, an SDP Films (France) production, currently in development.
He has written seven screenplays.
His pilot script for the BUZZ! - a TV drama, made Second Round at the 2013 Austin Film Festival Screenplay Competition. In 2014 a revised version of the BUZZ! made the Quarter Finals of the 2014 Page Awards, and the 2014 Screencraft TV Pilot competition.
He is now writing his first book - a crime thriller.
