Federico Carmona Astor

Hello, my name is Federico Carmona Astor (24 years old). I’m from Caracas, Venezuela. I have Bachelor of Arts degree with a Major in Mass Communication from Universidad Monteávila (2012, Caracas - Venezuela), and I'm currently on the Film Production Master's Degree at Full Sail University.

My work experience started on the advertising industry in Venezuela, however I found me true passion in filmmaking. The first time I worked in a film set I felt something similar to “love at first sight”, it was just the place where I had to be. On 2011 I produced a guerrilla feature film in Venezuela. Later on 2012, I got a job as a Production Coordinator for advertising and film in Factor RH Producciones until January, 2014 (which is ranked as the Best Film Production Company of Venezuela) . During my career inside Factor RH I also had the opportunity to develop as an Executive Production Coordinator in marketing, film festivals, and international sales for the films:

"Rock, Paper, Scissors", which was Venezuelan Selection for Best Foreign Film at the Oscars Academy Awards 2013. In this case I was also the Coordinator of the marketing campaign in Los Angeles, California for the Academy Awards. Working with Kean & Kolar Communications. And working hand by hand with Filmax International (Spain) in relation to marketing and international sales.

"Blue and Not So Pink" which was the winner as Best Iberoamerican Film at the Goya Awards 2014. I worked with Media Luna New Films (Germany) in relation to film festivals, marketing and international sales.

During 2014 I also worked as the Film Festivals Coordinator for the film Papita Maní Tostón, which was the highest box office film in the history of Venezuela.

My most recent project is a Webseries that I produced in 2013, but was released this summer on Youtube. It’s called BLEEP and it was sponsored by one of the most important mobile companies in Venezuela (Digitel). On this project I developed as Producer and Executive Producer. This project is going to be released once again on January, 2015.
