Stephen Morgan-MacKay is a professional Actor, Director, Fight Director and Teacher from Los Angeles, California whose theatrical career spans over 25 years and two continents. As a theatrical artist, Stephen has performed, directed and provided fight direction for television and regional theatres throughout the United States and has worked with Tampereen Teatteri, Porin Teatteri and Komedia Teatteri/Suomen Teatteriopisto as both Director and Fight Director. He is also the Founding Director of The American Studio.
Stephen holds both a Master of Fine Arts (MFA) in Dramaturgy from the State University of New York and a Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Theatre from the University of South Florida. After obtaining his MFA in 2006, Stephen was recruited by the Tony Award-Winning San Diego Repertory Theatre where he worked as the Rep’s Casting Director, Literary Manager, Artistic Associate and Resident Dramaturg.
In addition to his professional experiences, Stephen has worked as an Adjunct Theatre Professor for the State University of New York, Touro College and Cuyamaca College where he taught undergradutate courses in Acting, Stage Combat, Theatre History, Audition Techniques, Textual Analysis and Public Speaking. His professional affiliations include: Actor's Equity Association, Society of American Fight Directors and the Independent Fight Directors Guild.
