About Jake

For decades, Jake Fader toured the globe as a guitarist with groups like the highly acclaimed New York afrobeat band Kokolo, but it’s what he’s managed to accomplish in addition to touring that is truly remarkable. His keen ear, deft hands and near-encyclopedic grasp of world music past and present provides the sort of global perspective so lacking among many compositions today. Daily, Fader taps that near-bottomless well of inspiration to create truly unique, original and relevant compositions that have made him the composer of choice for directors and producers of television, film and ad work.

But don’t take our word for it – take that of award-winning Director Jason Zeldes, whose feature documentary “Romeo is Bleeding,” which Fader scored, recently garnered awards from multiple film festivals.

“Fader doesn’t approach film scoring as work, but rather an opportunity to bring something new and important to the world,” Zeldes explains. “His score brought forth the haunting quality that is so hard to capture in picture, and brought an incredible depth and energy to the film.”
