Stephen Iwanyk

Coming out of Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, where I worked on seasons 3 and 4 of The Wire for HBO, I spent a few years at the Creative Artists Agency, mostly in the talent department, before working with producer Gavin Polone on the Emmy-winning HBO movie Cinema Verite and the ABC Family series Jane By Design. Ultimately, I've come to The Gotham Group, where I've been for several years, with a focus on representing television writers and coordinating our own producing efforts through our first-look producing deal at Legendary TV.

Generally, I skew towards really smart writing and grounded storytelling - commercial concepts are all well and good on the surface, but a writer who can create characters and worlds that feel truly authentic and believable has more of a sustainable future than anyone else, and can put those talents to work in almost any arena.
