About Ruth

I am the Contest Chair for the FiLMLaB Contest (short scripts). Part of the non-profit Willamette Writers, FiLMLaB seeks to continue the WW mission of teaching and empowering writers. As such, we offer as a Grand Prize the production of the winning 7 page script; allowing the screenwriter to be involved in preproduction process; director guided rewrites (with a professional screenwriter mentor); and a chance to be on set when their film is shot (among many other opportunities). It is our belief that this real world experience in collaboration will strengthen their writing skills, elevate their profile and give them an insight into filmmaking they may otherwise never have.
