SYNOPSIS:

Father Jeung investigates the suspected demonic possession of Serena Thomas and discovers that his deceased daughter Hope lives in her. He lies to his mentor Father Petrella that Serena is not possessed and then takes custody of her. Upon learning this, Serena's mother Gale wins parole and visits Serena. When Serena confesses that Hope's spirit lives in her body and seemingly levitates, Gale holds Father Jeung hostage. She searches his house for clues on how he pulled off the levitation trick but the only suspicious things she finds are a photo David Wu and instruments of exorcism. Gale deduces that Father Jeung is an exorcist and that Hope's spirit is transforming into a demon. Hence Gale forces Father Jeung to exorcise Hope's spirit out of Serena. But Serena escapes during the exorcism leaving Gale and Father Jeung with no choice but to put aside their differences to try to find her. They chase her to a school where Father Petrella had just saved David Wu from Serena's assault. He reveals that David did not die after murdering Hope as Father Jeung believed. Instead David willed the demon out of himself using methods that the church still does not understand. Father Petrella and David join Gale and Father Jeung. They follow Serena to a potter's field where Gale's mom is buried. There, Gale reveals that Serena had accidentally murdered her grandmother while defending herself from her father John Thomas. Gale is in prison because she took responsibility for the murder in place of Serena. From this story David concludes that Serena's next target is John Thomas. When Serena attacks John, he manipulates her into dropping her guard and breaks her neck. After this betrayal, Serena transforms into a demon and attacks him. The exorcists arrive. Gale persuades Serena to let John go. David draws Hope's spirit out of Serena's body. Serena and Father Jeung persuade Hope to ascend to heaven. Finally, Father Petrella assemblies Father Jeung, Gale, Serena, David into a team of professional exorcists.
