After receiving his MFA from the University of Iowa, he worked alongside migrant laborers throughout the northwest and into Canada writing their stories. He was a Writer in Residence at the Julian Theatre in San Francisco. After a showcase of his monologues Off-Broadway at The Westside Theatre in New York City, he was hired by Lawrence Konner and Mark Rosenthal Productions and wrote numerous scripts at Universal and Paramount for 11 years. He has been on multiple major motion picture movie shoots as a consultant and has worked with studio editors. He produced, wrote, and directed two musical plays with composer Peter Gallway; and was Theater Director of the Maine Festival for two years. One of his musicals “Testify” was staged in requested encore performances at the Portland Museum of Art and at Portland Stage. His directing of non-professional actors is showcased in two critically praised audiobooks of his monologues: “Hold Me Fast” and “Wayside Cross”. His books "Beauty Strip" and "Hold Me Fast" are available on amazon in print and as kindle editions.
