About Luigie

Producer / Songwriter / Composer Luigie Gonzalez can truly be called a writer and producer of all musical genres – working with artists ranging from Barbara Streisand to Christopher Von Uckermann to Madonna to Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis and Janet Jackson. Known for producing and engineering every song that he writes, Luigie seamlessly crosses the boundaries between Pop, Dance and Latin, always creating a distinctive “song and sound” that is both recognized and respected by the music community worldwide.

Born in Panama, the Grammy-nominated producer and composer Luigie “LUGO” Gonzalez first began his musical career by studying production and orchestration at the National Conservatory of Mexico and later at Berklee College of Music in Boston, MA. Upon graduating, Luigie was offered the opportunity to relocate to Los Angeles and produce for the legendary singer/songwriter Juan Gabriel. His production led to one of Juan Gabriel’s singles, “Abrazame Muy Fuerte,” charting number one in Billboard magazine and also resulted in an American Grammy nomination for Best Latin Pop Album of the Year.

Relocating once again to Miami, Florida, Luigie composed, produced and arranged songs for BMG Records under the name of L.E.X. Project. L.E.X became one of the hottest production teams in the U.S., and successfully released 20 top-10 singles from artists including Ricky Martin, Barbara Streisand, Madonna, Donna Summers and Bette Midler -- becoming one of the biggest Billboard Chart Toppers of all time.
Internationally, Luigie has also produced, co-produced and engineered numerous successful artists released by different labels in Europe and Asia such as Tiana Xiao and Crystal Kay.

His strong rock background has led him to projects involving songwriting and production; as a songwriter Luigie also charted in Latin America with hit songs for many high profile artists including Eiza Gonzalez and Myriam.

Luigie has had the opportunity to use his talent for visual media, and his interest in music production within the visual media arena has resulted in scoring for feature films (L.A I Hate You - Universal Pictures) and movie trailers (Broken City - 20 Century Fox).
Luigie draws upon his diverse musical influences to create scores and soundtracks that range from electro-rock to classical to orchestral arrangements, once again reflecting an incredibly broad range of musical proclivity.
