About Manel
Award-Winning Music Composer for Film.
Zaragoza, 1963. Manel Gil-Inglada resides in Cerdanyola del Vallès, Barcelona, where he studied music at L’AULA Modern Music and Jazz, a member institute of the prestigious Berklee College of Music, Boston.
As a musician Gil-Inglada has formed part of various rock, jazz and blues ensembles. He has participated in numerous courses and seminars with Ennio Morricone, Armando Trovaioli and José Nieto. He has also worked as lecturer on film scoring as part of the International Master in Audio-Visual Animation offered at Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona and in the Master in Animation offered at the Visual Images Laboratory of the School of Engineering of Barcelona LIVE-UPC. In 1990 he co-founded the music production company Quadrophenia, where his main tasks focused on composing and producing theme music and film scores for cinema, animations, television programmes and other audio-visual material.
Eclectic, elegant, emotive, audacious, Gil's style reveals his many influences ranging from classics to film composers. He specialises in complex musical compositions for large symphony orchestras.
