About Clyde

Clyde David Jones is an African-American author. Clyde David Jones was born July 12th, 1954 in Mansfield, Ohio.[1]. His mother Gladys Page was a home-maker. His father Woodrow Jones Sr. was a plumber and a Church of God In Christ pastor. Clyde was the 12th of 15 children that was born to Woodrow and Gladys Jones. Clyde had seven brothers and seven sisters.

Clyde David Jones graduated from Malabar High School in 1972 in Mansfield, Ohio.[2] The school was named after Author Louis Bromfield's home Malabar Farm which was near Mansfield.[3]. Clyde later studied Business Management at the North Central College in Mansfield.[4]. At North Central College, Clyde took several communications classes which strongly inspired and influenced him to start writing. After meeting his advanced communications professor who he studied under, Clyde developed a greater passion for writing stories that addressed the social ills of society.

After working more than twenty years at a glass factory and serving as a Baptist Church pastor for five years in the Mansfield area, Clyde moved his wife Janice and son Nicholas to Chicago, Illinois during the summer of 1999. Clyde and his family was received well in Chicago and immediately made many good friends in their new city. Not content with the regular nine to five workday, Clyde sought to make a contribution to society that would somehow enrich the lives of others.

Clyde David Jones' fulfillment for self-actualization led to his writing of several books. His first published book was "The Revelations of My Mother," (published by Create-Space ISBN: 13 9781466271043)[5], which was an inspirational story about his wife Janice and the women that rescued and raised her in the midst of a great controversy surrounding Janice's secret birth. In this novel, Author Clyde David Jones stressed the belief "that family was not based or determined solely by biological birth, but that families were formed by love, caring, and sharing."[6] Clyde's second book "Behind the Gate" (published by Create-Space ISBN: 13 9781466284241)[5], was a mystery thriller that reminded citizens of what could happen when people become too complacent and trusting, blindly allowing others with questionable motives and goals to lead without any constructive debate. The author displays a strong sense of caring for the average member of society in all his writings.

July of 2012, Author Clyde David Jones released a third book titled "The Unlikely Bigamist- The Riley Francis Scott Story," (published by Create-Space ISBN: 13 9781478126560)[7], which was highly rated by the reading public and declared by many to be one of the best books of the summer of 2012. At the request of the readers, Author Clyde David Jones plans to write a sequel to "The Unlikely Bigamist." The book has become a favorite transcending all cultures and races. As a writer, Author Clyde David Jones has been known to reach out to all cultures and races promoting good will and the belief that the human-race is one race and one family. August 2013, Author Clyde David Jones at the request of the readers wrote a sequel to “The Unlikely Bigamist.” The sequel was titled “The Great Reunion of the Benton Alexander (S) which was a follow up of the lives of Riley Francis Scott and the original Benton Alexander. The story takes place on two continents and is filled with mystery and unpredictable action. His latest book “Cabin Number Two” ISBN: 13 9780692264393, which Clyde published himself in 2014 takes place during the Civil War of the United States of America. This story is about a mixed family that struggle to find their true identity during a time when the country was socially divided, politically split, and at war with itself.

Author Clyde David Jones has traveled from New York City to California and as far as Toronto, Canada discussing and promoting the need for people to reach out and care about their fellow members of society. Some have contributed this to his growing up in an exceptionally large family. Nevertheless, Author Clyde David Jones has demonstrated that he has a love for humanity. He was one of the first tutors at the Culliver Reading Center in Mansfield, Ohio, where he tutored children struggling with reading and math.[8]. Author Clyde David Jones also donates his time speaking at engagements for schools and book-clubs.[9]. Clyde was also featured for his writings in the Com-Ed Corporation's monthly publication (Behind the Lines Magazine, May 2011 Edition).[10] He is also a member of the writer's club Writer Central.[11]
