About Michael

I have been making films most of my life starting with super 8 at the age of 12. Had a career starting in 1986 as a special effects make-up designer providing prosthetic make-ups / animatronics for countless features, commercials and tv etc. I had originally got in to doing effects for my own films and even whilst I was running my fx shop I was still experimenting with film. I find these times especially exciting because I am able to wear many hats and digital is now looking way more filmic, I never liked video at all until it went digital. Now one can shoot something of decent quality without the cost of film and processing etc. These days a great deal of my time is spent in editing and post production. But I prefer to call myself a film-maker first and foremost.

Unique traits: I am interested in story-telling with film exploring concepts and techniques that are more unusual and experimental.
