About Safwan

In 2009, Safwan decided to produce and direct his first professional short film which was the first action short film in Egyptian movie festivals, discussing a sensitive issue of public opinion with a profound impact on Egyptian society with Mr Sami EL Adel as a guest of honor in the film. The movie participated in ‘EL Sawy Cultural Wheel’s 7th Short Movie Festival’ and the ‘16th Egyptian National Film festival’.

Safwan filmed several documentaries and short films during the Egyptian revolution that went viral and was highly accredited. Safwan became widely known among Egyptian dissidents and his work is well known on both the local and international horizons and was named as “one of the gains of the revolution” in EL Tahrir newspaper.

Safwan’s extensive experience in directing documentary films, short films and art work was manifested in the establishment of Eyewitness Productions in 2011 .
