My name Matt Baxter,
I fell in love with film from a very young age, my first cinema experience that stuck in my head was a say trip out to see Aladdin.
I remember being so excited and forcing the whole family to sit on the front row!
We left with sore necks, popcorn kernels in our teeth and a sugar rush after seeing 'Genie' do his thing (may he R.I.P.)
I studied film for five years, two at West Herts college where I achieved my Btec National Diploma in Film and Tv production with the final three spent at Sunderland University obtaining my degree in Digital Film Production.
My main focus was cinematography, although my approach was always from a lighting perspective.
I'd always be in the studios experimenting with all sorts of light set-ups, either to mimic a favourite films aesthetic or creating my own.
My current goal in life is to achieve my electrical qualifications so that I may begin work on set as a trainee lighting technician. Once I have achieved this I intend to work my way up to Gaffer over time and eventually when the time is right D.O.P.
