I am a photographer & cameraman located in Gaborone, Botswana, and I work here since 1999.
I have always harboured a passion for photography & film, and I love my work, but only few years back I manage to finish New York Institute of Photography. For the past 3 years I fly few drones (quad, hexacopter, octocopter) to add aerial video and photography to my portfolio.
In this day and age, the unmistakable cliché “painting with light” seems as real as always. I always try to capture real emotions and am very attentive to the smallest details possible, this being a big part of my creative process.
Photography is, for me, a platform to materialize and put in practice my innovative ideas , which are, at times, a bit wacky, deemed worthy of a bit of “virtual insanity” . Doing a lot of commercial kitsch is also part of the job but “A Mans Gotta Do, What a Mans Gotta Do” to “put bread on the table”.
As a result otherwise boring subjects often become beautiful and interesting concepts, other times stunning models become the kitsch I mentioned earlier.
Adding scope to your vision about a particular project is one of my main concerns. I believe teaming up with my clients and involving them in the creative process helps me accomplish their specific needs and always produces exemplary results.
I have captured a wide range of moments from our fascinating world covering: aerial, fashion, beauty, portraits, weddings, lifestyle, wildlife, advertising, annual reports, editorial, corporate and government event photography, and I truly believe that my “specialty” is that I am not specialized in any narrow field of photography.
My photographs can be seen on: National Geographic, Forbes, Encyclopaedia Britannica, Nickelodeon, Men’s Health, Scientific American, UNESCO, AOL, World Bank, as well as in local media for: Botswana Post, Air Botswana, L.E.A, Pula Medical, etc.
My whole workflow is digital and I shoot only with full frame Canon DSLR cameras equipped with L grade lens, a backup camera being always available. For my video production I use professional Canon and Sony HD cameras.
I have a studio for photography and video in Gaborone fully equipped with all the necessary tools of trade such as: ARRI and Sachtler flood lights, Elinchrom Strobes, Pocket Wizards, and even a mast with robotic head for aerial photography………………way too many toys.
You can count on my synapses to understand that post-production, design and budgets are as important as the shoot.
