SYNOPSIS:

An epic historical drama, based on real events, depicting the 50 day siege of the city of Byzantium, once the largest city in the world. Against this backdrop, we follow the tale of two brothers from Italy, thrust to the forefront of a conflict mired by greed, intrigue and political machinations. A conflict in the Middle East with echoes of many of the issues we face today: a clash of cultures and ideology, with both sides facing internal divisions. All this set within the context of a medieval Alamo: a desperate siege, featuring some of the most exotic weaponry in history: 7,000 defenders against an army of 200,000 Turks, armed with 18 foot long canons. It is 1453. In this closing year of the middle ages, brothers Lorenzo and Ferdinand join a rag tag group of mercenaries lured by the promise of untold riches, on a quest to save the legendary city of Byzantium from capture by the Turks. For 50 days they defend the city against overwhelming odds, yet in this city rife with intrigue and political machinations, the bond between them is pushed to breaking point as both men vie for the love of the Emperor’s daughter...
