I'm a Mechanical Engineer working in the automotive industry in Metro Detroit by day and an independent filmmaker by night. My film partner (J.B. Armstrong, a Senior Screen, Arts, & Cultures student at the University of Michigan) and I recently started our own production company (Valiant Films, LLC) and have been shooting spec commercials and shorts around the Detroit area for the past year and a half. I plan to eventually leave my engineering job and produce for TV and Film full time.
In my spare time, I enjoy playing and watching sports (primarily basketball, football, and baseball), working with youth, and teaching/learning about leadership. Through the 2 years (2009-2010) I spent as Drum Major at the University of Michigan, I learned a lot about group mediation, efficiency, networking, and how to work with a lot of different types of people to create art on a stressed timeline. Learning about different styles of leadership and group communication are very important to me and I am always looking to expand that area of my knowledge. I help lead the youth ministry at my church, Citadel of Faith in Detroit and am constantly thinking of ways to discuss spirituality and faith both in my projects and in my own life. I currently reside in Royal Oak, MI with my wife (an Assistant Prosecutor for Detroit/Wayne County) and our Labrador mutt, Stevie. My primary goal in life is to fulfill God's purpose and help others experience true joy and faith.
