"Hens" is a story of woes and anguish of a girl Nalini who falls into the trap of a lesbian hostel warden and out of this agony she takes revenge and kills her.

SYNOPSIS:

"Hens" are symbolic. Whether they stay with cocks or not, they will not stop laying eggs. Hens is a story of a girl, Nalini, who, under a well planned thought and scheme, is entrapped into lesbianism, by the warden of the university girls' hostel, who herself happens to be a lesbian. The experts say that this thought takes place more in women who are highly educated and are from well to do homes.

This is not only the picture of lesbianism but is the story of a feared and exploited women. "Nalini" the protagonist, how she becomes the prey of a structured conspiracy. How she is entrapped into lesbianism by Bindu, warden of the hostel, through Anita, roommate of Nalini. Nalini is compelled to fall prey from one helplessness to another. She losts her love, Rajan, because of this.

The hens, those who do not mate with cocks, do not stop laying eggs. But chicks cannot take birth from such eggs. We do not know how hens take this situation. It is said if any cock enters the hens, they kill it by pecking. We also do not know if it is true. But it is true that lesbianism may satisfy the biological needs of a woman, but her womb fires.

This happens to Nalini.

Her womb fires as if somebody has put ember in her womb. She remembers a little human body and her eyes become wet.

"You are the murderer of all my unborn children, Bindu." She says in anguish.

Nalini's nerves tighten, she clenches her fists and word "revenge" automatically comes to her mind. She remembers all as if she is watching a picture. All, that happens in her life, which came to her mind very early, but the anguish of all that, she feels today.

"Hens" is a story of all the woes and anguish, which Nalini bears in her loneliness, and moreover she has lost her love. Years pass by but Nalini cannot call back her love. She always feels lonely and always tries to get new friends for her biological needs. But when she lost Julie to Ricki and seduces Pinki, her maid, then she thinks that there is no end to it. Her agonies do not allow her to take a sound sleep and she always sees bad dreams.

Nalini sees that a tiger is coming running, keeping her body in its mouth. She also sees a falcon having her body in his paws. She, to get rid of it, shrieks and runs and flies.

She sees her own body in pyre. Her body on the bier, on all her shoulders and thousands of Nalinis in the procession.

This is all her anguish and woes in which she lives.

Ultimately she takes revenge from Bindu. She finds her and pulls her among the hens. They peck her to death.

But a thought comes to her mind that it can also be done to her which she has done to Bindu.
